I don’t have much to say other than to announce that our new wedding web site has launched just a few short hours ago and we are thrilled with the new look. Please click the image below and have a LOOK. If you dig enough, you might just find a special discount offer.
Four years ago today we were married on Camano Island wearing our jeans and Chuck Taylors. Our wedding was amazing. We let our young children plan the day and they didn’t disappoint. We had no worries, no timeline to follow and we had a great photographer who also happens to be Kier’s best friend. My best friend was ordained online and married us in the wilderness. I loved our wedding. Nothing but wonderful memories.
Who would have thought that Kier and I would become so proficient in all of the ins and outs of weddings? Kier brought with him a lifetime of photography experience with plenty of weddings under his belt, but he didn’t focus on weddings until I told him he was missing the boat! We both love what we do. Getting to know our couples is an adventure and getting to take pictures on such an important day is really the ultimate compliment. My favorite part is seeing how different people celebrate. Learning about all of the variety of traditions and watching people start their own (or fling all tradition out the window) is just plain awesome.
Most of all we have fun
These are some of my favorite shots of Kier at weddings. Yes, that is him stealing a cupcake. We luuuv Hello Cupcake! That is also Kier running as if he were under siege. OK, he is just trying to get set up to get more shots of the couple leaving, but you get the point. I think sometimes he regrets giving me a camera.
the grass is greener
It was a dry summer as can be seen from the before photos take at the Meridian Habitat Park in Puyallup. I know my bride was very disappointed that the grass was so brown so I decided to surprise her with a little bit of Photoshop magic. Below you will see the before and after images – and not a drop of water was used in this eco-friendly photo editing work.
In March I shot my first Friday the 13th wedding and as mentioned in previous posts it was a blast. Tiffany, the bride, was great to work with and her “bridesmaids” (not a woman among them) were more than just a little unique. Today I met up with Tiffany one more time. She had asked about doing a photo shoot in a cemetery and we were never able to get our schedules and the weather to sync up until today.
During our shoot we had a little visiter, this big raccoon just came walking by and climbed a tree. He really didn’t seem to care that we were there in the least and only stopped climbing long enough to give me a rather annoyed look when I got within a few feet of him to take his picture.
I haven’t gotten anywhere near going through all the photos yet, but I wanted to take a minute to post a few “teaser photos” now.
I’m at it again! Four more days of basketball and we were off to a great start yesterday even with the last game not ending until 11:30pm and I was right back at it again at 8am today! I’d be exhausted, but there is a lot of great basketball being played. Yes, some games aren’t all that great. Franklin HS just beat Auburn Mt. View by nearly 20 points, but other games have been nail biters right up to the last second. Yesterday Lakeside beat Hazen by 3 points, but it was just a 1 point game until the last 30 seconds. That’s an amazing game!
The only real down side is that there aren’t any coaches that put on a fashion show like Jerome Collins from Federal Way, but you can’t have everything.
Yes, I’m a few days late posting this, in fact I’m at the 3A Basketball tournament right now and will be for the next 4 days, but I just had to update my post about Jermoe Collins and Federal Way High Schools boys basketball team, they WON! Not only that but coach Collins was once again rocking a new suit. Congratulations Coach Collins and Federal Way Basketball!
I have known Lisa Williams, one of the people responsible for putting on the Washington International Girl Pageant, for a while now, but only recently found out that she was involved in the Pageant. I’ve know her as a realtor until she asked me to take some photos of her daughter for the pageant. It was a pleasure, her daughter was great to work with and it was clear she was having fun.
The Washington pageant is coming up on April 17-19 at the Seattle Marriott Hotell If you are interested in knowing more about Washington International Girl, I’m listing some information from their web site and there is a link to the site in the links section.

Even before I fell in love with photography I fell in love with history. Starting in 5th grade with a book about the Red Baron I was hooked. I soon read every book about WW 1 and WW 2 in the school library and then branched out to the local public library. Recently I was in Texas and was asked if I’d be interested in visiting the USS Lexington Museum. I jumped at the chance and I am very glad I did.
The first aircraft carrier named Lexington (CV-2) was sunk in 1942 at the Battle of the Coral Sea, this Lexington (CV-16) was commissioned just a year later. The Japanese gave her the name “The Blue Ghost” since they thought she was the same carrier they had sunk in the Coral Sea.
There is a self guided tour of the ship that is fascinating, you get to visit a large portion of the ship and all along the way there are displays regarding the long history of this carrier. Just be prepared to do a LOT of walking and be ready for a lot of very steep stairs and if you are tall, like I am, be ready to duck.
For more information please visit the website for the Lexington

We shoot action sports photography but we do love to bring our athletes into the studio. Michael is a very dedicated Tae Kwon Do student so his parents wanted to have a studio session to show off his moves.
Congratulations on your achievements Michael – we’re very proud of you!!!!
We have been working on our first print ad that we are planning on placing in South Sound Wedding & Event magazine.
Who’s that girl?
Autumn is a dream bride and we just loved working with her. She was ready to have a good day no matter what curve ball she was thrown. She is so graceful, authentic and charming – her personality really comes through in her photos. We are pleased to have her represent our company!
