Bride & GroomI’ve written a couple of other posts about my “offbeat” Friday the 13th Bride, Tiffany, and now I’m at it again.

There is no need to go on and on about how much fun I had working with Tiffany on her wedding day and the shoot we did at the cemetery in Tacoma, I’ve said it all before.  I am here not to rehash old stories, but to add on to the story that just keeps going.

How does the story keep going?  Well, I just got an e-mail from Tiffany to let me know that her wedding was featured on offbeatbride.com!  Check out her story HEREg, then go check out other ideas about planning an “offbeat” wedding.

Since the story on offbeatbride.com is being seen by people outside of the Seattle / Tacoma area I just wanted to let people know that if you are interested in hiring Firstlight Photography to shoot your wedding, but you don’t live in the Seattle area we will travel.  If you have questions feel free to call (253.335.7958) or e-mail (kier@firstlight-photography.com) for details.

Final version of the Friday the 13th Wedding video.
Tiffany and Brandon were great to work with and having just shot Tiffany’s cemetery bridal pictures I thought it was time to do a full video from their wedding photos.

In March I shot my first Friday the 13th wedding and as mentioned in previous posts it was a blast.  Tiffany, the bride, was great to work with and her “bridesmaids” (not a woman among them) were more than just a little unique.  Today I met up with Tiffany one more time.  She had asked about doing a photo shoot in a cemetery and we were never able to get our schedules and the weather to sync up until today.

During our shoot we had a little visiter, this big raccoon just came walking by and climbed a tree.  He really didn’t seem to care that we were there in the least and only stopped climbing long enough to give me a rather annoyed look when I got within a few feet of him to take his picture.

I haven’t gotten anywhere near going through all the photos yet, but I wanted to take a minute to post a few “teaser photos” now.

While I’ve shot a lot of weddings I’d never claim that they all start looking alike, BUT from time to time one of them will really stand out from the rest.  The reasons vary, it could be a couple you really build a bond with, a really cool location or sometimes it is just the day they decide to get married on.

Yesterday, Friday the 13th, I shot a wedding that stood out for all of those reasons.  The couple was very friendly and the bride treated me more like a member of the family than the hired photographer, there was a very interesting cast of characters and NO BRIDESMAIDS! Yes, that’s correct, the bride had 3 guys as bridesmaids, so I guess there were bridesmaids, but no women serving in those rolls.   The bride had some music I’d never heard played at a wedding and walked down the aisle to “Going to the chapel”.   Even after all the weddings we’ve shot it was a day filled with firsts and I’ll never forget it.
